Think of these photographs as Historical Live Portraits of what I consider – the greatest Band on Earth. I’m certain you will agree.
"THE RIVER COLLECTION”
Do you need a frame? Here is a great place to get the same one that I use in my own home. www.framedestination.com
The following Six photographs were personally selected from the vast Archive of Rock Photographer James Shive, all of which were shot on film and most of which were last seen through the viewfinder of his 35mm camera at the now infamous concert give by Bruce Springsteen & the E Street Band at Nassau Coliseum, December 31, 1980. Chosen on this, the occasion of the 35th Anniversary of the release of Bruce's album “The River,” these Six photographs hopefully reflect the incredible range of songs on the album not to mention performed at that momentous show.

What would “The River Collection,” made available this year by Rock Photographer Jim Shive, be without an image including the one, the only, Clarence “Big Man” Clemons? Just like the Big Man himself, this one does it with style and class. Noted for another of his images used to memorialize the late, great E Street saxophonist in “Rolling Stone Magazine” 2011, Jim made this photograph on film on New Year’s Eve, 1980, upon the release of Bruce’s “The River” album. Now 35 years later, Jim’s noted, rare images like this one – with the ever-faithful Clarence guarding Bruce’s back, saxophone clearly in hand – are even more meaningful with the passage of time. Never before has this image been offered and now only 100 copies are being made available to you and fans of Bruce, Clarence and the entire E Street Band, everywhere.

It unfolded slowly at the edge of the stage — first, Bruce Springsteen and Clarence Clemons were out front, and then Garry Tallent and Miami Steve Van Zandt joined the formation. Rock Photographer Jim Shive clicked off frame after frame, knowing he was immortalizing treasured moments — moments made 35 years ago upon the release of Bruce’s album, “The River."Out of all those frames photographed, this one was specially selected by Jim to be included in “The River Collection” this year in honor of that memorable album and concert. This large sized Giclee print is a striking 16” X 24” and has never been made available before — truly a one-of-kind image taken at a one-of-a-kind show.

What more can be said of this wildly popular image except that only a handful of copies, literally, are still available? Rock Photographer Jim Shive began making this image available four years ago with the launch of his first-ever web site, ShiveArchive.com. Since then, this print has been sold around the world. Taken at the same historic concert on New Year’s Eve, December 1980, Nassau Coliseum, this print rightfully deserves its place among “The River Collection” that celebrates Bruce Springsteen’s double record set “The River,” released 35 years ago. Don’t wait. This print is absolutely destined to sell out this year!
